Lindsey, Davis, and Associates is an accounting firm that goes beyond the numbers. We offer you more than traditional auditing, accounting and tax services. More, even, than data processing, economic analyses, business consulting services and help with difficult government regulations.

Our founder, Danny Lindsey served in the United States Air Force and afterward attended Mississippi State University. He graduated in 1970 and began his career as an accountant. For the next two years he was employed by Nail, McKinney, and Tate, a CPA firm with offices in Tupelo, Amory, and New Albany.

In 1972, Danny decided to open his own public accounting office in Ripley, MS., and for a short time he shared space with a local insurance salesman. Danny passed his CPA exam in 1974, and through the next years his firm grew to the point that Danny and his staff of three accountants found themselves in need of yet another accountant. One of Danny's many friends advised him to contact a young man who at the time was still attending the University of Mississippi, Charles Davis.

Danny contacted Charles Davis in January of 1977, and arranged a schedule whereby Charles could attend classes three days a week and commute from Oxford to work for Danny three days a week. The arrangement continued until Charles graduated in May of 1977 at which time Danny offered Charles a full time position. The growth of Danny's accounting firm and additional staff had made it necessary to add the first of what would be five additions to the existing site.

Charles Davis passed his CPA exam in 1991 and the partnership know as Lindsey and Davis, CPA's was formed. In the year 2000, the professional firm became known as Lindsey and Davis, CPA's, P.A. Danny and Charles remained partners until Danny's death in November 2002.

In 2005, Dean Caviness, who had joined the firm in 1996, and later became the firm's vice-president emerged as a new partner and the firm's name was once again changed. The new name was Lindsey, Davis, and Caviness.

In December 2005, Stephanie Clifton, who had joined the firm in 1997, emerged as a new partner and vice-president. The firm's name would once again need to be changed. However, this time it was decided that instead of adding each partners name, and due to the constant expansion of the firm, the new name would have to be one that could remain in place more than just a couple of years.

Finally it was decided that the new name would reflect the names of the original partners while leaving room for growth. Thus began Lindsey, Davis and Associates. The rate at which the old accounting firm of Lindsey and Davis continues to expand is a strong indicator showing how dedicated the staff is to the success of the business.

Today, Lindsey, Davis, and Associates serve the Northeastern portion of Mississippi, South-central Tennessee, and Western Alabama with the utmost in professional accounting services. The firm has three CPA's, six staff accountants, an office manager, two staff bookkeepers, and a receptionist. Although the location in Ripley, MS has not changed since Danny first established the firm in 1972 the building has changed. It now includes the original building plus five additions, and the new main office which was the old Farm Bureau Insurance building.
